Having completed his training he joined the Corrib Great Southern Hotel in 1977. Ronnie’s role was Front Office Manager. After a short while there he moved on to the Great Southern Hotel in Killarney. Here his role was Front of House Manager. He subsequently moved to the Great Southern Hotel in Rosslare. After a few years of working in Rosslare he was offered the General Managers position back where it all started in the Corrib Great Southern Hotel.
After managing the Corrib Great Southern Hotel for a number of years he moved on to a new venture and while he left hotel industry he didn’t leave the hospitality trade as he became the manager of Paddy Burkes Pub in Clairnbridge.
A vacancy arose as Chief Executive Officer of Renvyle House Hotel and he thought it would be an ideal opportunity to get back into the hotel business. He applied for the position and as they say “the rest is history!” 18 years later Ronnie is still at the helm in Renvyle House and leads by example. He welcomes all guests like they are family and makes them feel at home.
Ronnie ethos and emphasis is always on the importance of Customer Service and this filters down through all of the team at Renvyle. Consequently, under his watchful eye, Renvyle House Hotel has won many Customer Service awards over the years.
